Brooklyn-based Model/Actriz bring their singular sound—fusing the hard muscles of post-punk with the bodily ecstasy of club music—to Istanbul for the first time on June 16 at Blind Stage, with the support of %100 Müzik.
Known for blistering guitars, relentless drums, and crushing basslines, Model/Actriz is a band that pulls listeners in both emotionally and physically. Transforming the dark, sweaty, and intense nature of their music into an almost ritualistic live experience, the group doesn’t suppress emotions—they summon them directly into the body.
Released in 2023, Dogsbody unveiled the band’s distinctive universe, constructing a narrative that spoke from within the darkness—wandering like both a guide and a ghost. After receiving widespread critical acclaim, their follow-up album Pirouette steps out of that hazy atmosphere and turns directly toward the light. Delivering a clearer and sharper expression, the album marks a turning point where Model/Actriz fully embraces their power, both musically and personally.
On Pirouette, vocalist Cole Haden no longer calls out from the shadows; he commands the chaotic heart of the music from center stage—often from within the crowd itself. With a stage presence reminiscent of Grace Jones and Lady Gaga, he merges punk aggression with cabaret and club aesthetics. Throughout the album, desire, vulnerability, and power evolve into a deeply personal narrative that moves between past and present.
