Presented with pride by %100 Metal: Vincent Cavanagh, founding member of Anathema, brings his cinematic project The Radicant—pushing the boundaries of visual and sonic expression—to IF Performance Hall Beşiktaş on April 12.
Vincent Cavanagh, founding member and vocalist of Anathema, opens a new chapter in his musical journey with his solo project The Radicant. More than just a music project, The Radicant is conceived as a multi-layered, cinematic audio-visual experience that brings together sound, visual arts, and technology. The name “Radicant” derives from a term describing living organisms that advance by forming new roots as they grow—an approach that directly reflects Cavanagh’s artistic philosophy.
The Radicant’s debut EP, We Ascend, draws from the atmospheric world long associated with Anathema while venturing into more experimental and electronic territories. The EP showcases a wide sonic palette, ranging from drum’n’bass rhythms to cinematic electronic textures. Interweaving melodic psychedelia, ambient, and electronic elements, the project offers a familiar emotional depth for Anathema listeners while clearly revealing Cavanagh’s exploration of new modes of expression. The recording process, completed in collaboration with French producer Ténèbre, resulted in a powerful, pristine production rich in visual resonance.
With The Radicant, Vincent Cavanagh transforms music from a purely auditory medium into a form that directly engages with visual art. His previous work with exhibitions, installations, and interdisciplinary collaborations laid the foundation for this approach. In live performances, music, visual narrative, and stage design are treated as a unified whole—creating not a conventional concert, but an immersive cinematic experience.
As part of the Turkey tour, these special performances will feature selections from The Radicant repertoire alongside chosen Anathema classics. During these segments, Vincent Cavanagh will be joined by Anathema’s iconic vocalist Lee Douglas. Her presence on stage ensures that the Anathema legacy lives on and evolves within this project, carrying deep emotional significance for long-time listeners connected to the band’s timeless sound.
The Radicant’s first Turkey tour will take place on April 11, 2026, at Ankara Tosca Play, April 12 at IF Performance Hall Beşiktaş, and April 13 at İzmir SoldOut Performance Hall. This tour offers audiences the opportunity to experience Vincent Cavanagh’s new artistic era in a live and holistic format, while rediscovering the timeless spirit of Anathema in a transformed and contemporary form.
