Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the legendary album Mandylion, The Gathering with Anneke van Giersbergen and The Pineapple Thief come together on the same stage.
On the evening of June 25, Zorlu PSM will host two exceptional names in alternative music: The Gathering and The Pineapple Thief. Emerging from different geographies yet touching similar emotions, these bands promise a timeless night of music.
After a long hiatus, The Gathering return to the stage with their original vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen. With a special tour dedicated to the 30th anniversary of their 1995 cult album Mandylion, the band pays tribute to its past. Songs like Strange Machines, Leaves, and Sand and Mercury will come back to life through new live interpretations. The Gathering’s music still carries the same message: melancholy, elegance, and strength can coexist.
The other name of the night, The Pineapple Thief, has shaped a new language within the modern progressive rock scene over the past two decades. Bruce Soord’s distinctive voice and the band’s cinematic sound make them increasingly unique with every release. Albums such as Your Wilderness, Dissolution, and It Leads to This highlight just how emotionally and technically mature their musical expression has become.
