%100 Metal proudly presents: One of the pioneers of gothic metal and the architects of melancholic metal, Paradise Lost is coming to IF Performance Hall Istanbul as part of their “Ascension” 2026 European Tour!
One of the most influential and pioneering bands in metal music, Paradise Lost returns to Türkiye with their latest album “Ascension,” widely regarded as one of the most magnificent works of their career. The band will take the stage in Istanbul on November 15, 2026, at IF Performance Hall as part of their Türkiye tour.
The Peak of a 35-Year Legacy: Ascension
Formed in Halifax in 1988 and laying the foundations of an entire genre with their legendary 1991 album Gothic, Paradise Lost has become one of the biggest names in the metal world, with over 2 million albums sold. Throughout their career, the band has evolved through various phases — from their doom-death roots to the grand, mainstream-defining sound of Draconian Times, and even into experimental electronic territories. With the release of Ascension in 2025, they have once again solidified their throne.
Shaped by Gregor Mackintosh’s signature melancholic guitar melodies and Nick Holmes’ vocals — both brutal and hauntingly clean — this new album stands as a summary of the band’s 35-year journey. Describing the album’s dark atmosphere, Nick Holmes states, “People should expect more sorrow from us,” emphasizing that Ascension is a portrait of humanity’s struggle to rise — and the inevitable endings that come with it.
A Darkness That Expands on Stage
Described by critics as “a grander, colder, and more dignified masterpiece,” Ascension is not only powerful in the studio but grows even stronger on stage. Fans in Türkiye will have the chance to experience the album’s most striking moments live — from the thundering riffs of “Serpent on the Cross” to the unforgettable melodies of “Silence Like The Grave” and the emotional peaks of “Lay A Wreath Upon The World.”
The Istanbul show won’t be limited to new material. Iconic tracks that shaped the genre — such as “Say Just Words,” “As I Die,” and “One Second” — will also be part of this captivating darkness.
Get ready to lose yourself in the dark and rise with the purest form of melancholy.
