The melancholic voice of metal, Katatonia, will reunite with their audience at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage on May 6, 2026, for the second time. Years after leaving an indelible mark on this city, the band now returns to Istanbul on the threshold of a new era.
Formed in Stockholm in 1991, Katatonia moved beyond their early death/doom roots to build a singular dark universe by blending gothic, progressive, and alternative elements. Jonas Renkse’s fragile yet powerful vocals, profound lyrics, and the band’s signature atmospheric textures have transformed Katatonia from more than just a metal band into an emotionally immersive experience. Evolving with each album while staying true to their essence, the band consistently raises the same question: Can melancholy really be this beautiful?
With their latest album, “Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State,” Katatonia opens a chapter that is both heavier and bolder than before.
