Cümbüş Cemaat reinterprets traditional music through the touch of multiple musicians, moving beyond fixed forms while also creating original compositions. The band has performed at numerous venues and festivals to date and appeared in acclaimed director Tony Gatlif’s 2017 film Djam, also giving a concert ahead of its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

Their album İstanbul, recorded in Frankfurt in collaboration with Shantel, was released on May 8, 2020, under the Essay Recordings label. Beginning 2023 with preparations for a new album, Cümbüş Cemaat independently released the first single, “Mumya,” on March 10, 2023. Alongside their album work, they continue collaborative projects, including “Meyhaneci,” produced by Sillyboy’s Ghost Relatives and recorded with Selin Sümbültepe, released on August 23, 2023.
